Dapplewood is the perfect base to visit the stunning scenic beauty of the Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coast. From historic houses, woodland walks, incredible cycle routes across the Purbecks and the wonderful scenery of the New Forest to the beautiful award winning beaches along the Dorset coast and the festivals and international events held in Bournemouth and Poole Harbour, you will never be short of things to see and do!

If you prefer to relax and unwind simply grab a good book and take a blanket down to the picnic area at the end of our ancient Ash and Oak woodland to soak up the wonderful views.

There are many wonderful independent restaurants and pubs only a short drive away in the market towns of Wimborne and Ringwood or simply wander across the farmer’s field to  The Old Inn in Holt village where they serve freshly cooked delicious food with perfect sunset views.

Wakeboarding

The New Forest Water Park  offers wakeboarding or kneeboarding on their 2 cable systems; the Rixen 5 pylon main cable  or the Sesitec system 2.0 straight line cable.

Beginners start on the system 2.0 straight line cable, this involves a one to one session with an instructor. The cable can be controlled by the operator in terms or speed, starting and stopping and  a 15 minute lesson IS recommended to begin with.

The main cable is ideally for those experienced with wakeboarding. However kneeboarding is available to beginners on the main cable also.

Whilst you are there try the UK’s 1st Wibit Outdoor, Floating, Inflatable Sports Aqua Park  measuring in at an impressive 4,000sq meters. The inflatable Aqua Park has 2 trampolines, monkey bars, flippers, slides, hurdles, springboard, rockers, rollers, an overhang climbing wall, a swing, a giant iceberg(!) and much more.

 

Historic Houses

Kingston Lacey is a lavish family home built to resemble an Italian Palace. There’s plenty to see, from grand, beautifully detailed carvings, to intimate family souvenirs.
